ZWO Gen 2 M42 x 0.75 Filter Drawer for 2" Filters

Product Description

The ZWO Gen 2 M42 x 0.75 Filter Drawer for 2" Filters is a practical solution for astrophotographers who need quick access to 2-inch filters without repeatedly dismantling their imaging setup. Designed with a 21 mm optical thickness, the drawer integrates neatly into an imaging train while maintaining a predictable optical path. It uses an M42 × 0.75 male thread on the camera side and an M48 × 0.75 female thread for the filter and telescope side.

The Gen 2 design uses strong magnetic adsorption to make filter installation and removal quick and convenient. In addition, a side locking screw helps secure the drawer and reduce unwanted movement or gaps during imaging. The improved anti-light-leak design is particularly useful for long-exposure astrophotography, where unwanted light entering the optical train can affect image quality.

Technical Specifications

What Comes in the Box?

The package includes the ZWO Gen 2 M42 Filter Drawer and an M48-M42 adapter ring for connecting compatible cameras, telescopes, or other imaging accessories. The filter itself is not included, so you can install the compatible 2-inch filter of your choice.

Ideal for Astrophotography

For astrophotographers who regularly switch between UV/IR-cut, broadband, narrowband, or other 2-inch filters, a filter drawer can make an imaging session considerably more convenient. Instead of disassembling the optical train each time, you can slide the filter drawer out, replace the filter, and return it to position.

Furthermore, the 21 mm optical thickness can be useful when planning your imaging train and back-focus requirements. Therefore, always calculate the complete optical path of your camera, adapters, corrector, and filter drawer before installation.
