ZWO EFW 7-Position Electronic Filter Wheel (36 mm Unmounted)

Product Description

The ZWO EFW 7-Position Electronic Filter Wheel (36 mm Unmounted) is a compact, USB-powered filter wheel designed for monochrome astrophotography. It holds up to seven 36 mm unmounted filters, allowing you to switch between LRGB, narrowband, and other filters electronically without manually opening your imaging train. ZWO’s EFW system is designed specifically for automated astrophotography workflows and can be controlled through compatible imaging software.

The Version II design features a wider body with dedicated screw holes for a more secure connection to compatible ZWO ASI cameras. In addition, the wheel includes darkening sets that help reduce unwanted light leakage around the filter positions. At approximately 20 mm thick and 500 g, it adds relatively little bulk to a dedicated imaging setup.

What Comes in the Box?

The package includes the ZWO EFW 7-Position 36 mm Filter Wheel (Version II) along with darkening sets, a USB cable, mounting screws, T-adapters, and filter masks, depending on the supplied package. However, included accessories may vary by package, so we recommend confirming the current box contents before placing your order.

Ideal for Automated Astrophotography

The EFW 7x36-II is an excellent choice when your imaging setup requires several filters during automated capture. For example, you can load LRGB filters alongside narrowband filters and switch between them through your imaging software. As a result, you can build longer imaging sequences with less manual intervention.

The 36 mm unmounted format is also well suited to dedicated monochrome camera systems where maintaining a compact optical train and avoiding unnecessary vignetting are important considerations.
