The Optolong UHC 1.25" Mounted Filter is an essential broadband tool for enhancing contrast in deep-sky observing and imaging. Designed to combat the effects of both natural skyglow and artificial light pollution, this Ultra High Contrast (UHC) filter delivers a darker sky background, bringing out the intricate structures of nebulae and galaxies—even under heavy urban light.

With a peak transmission of 95% across critical emission lines such as OIII, H-Beta, NII, H-Alpha, and SII, this filter selectively allows only the most scientifically relevant wavelengths through. Whether you're imaging the Orion Nebula or visually scanning the Veil Nebula, the red passband and deep suppression of mercury and sodium vapor light make faint structures more visible and detailed.

Manufactured from Schott B260 glass and coated using ion-assisted deposition technology, the filter provides both optical clarity and long-term durability. The ultra-thin CNC-machined metal cell ensures a generous 26mm clear aperture for maximum light throughput with minimal vignetting in 1.25" configurations.
