PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Apertura Ultra High Contrast (UHC) 2" Filter is your visual solution to observing deep sky objects in light-polluted environments. By selectively transmitting key emission wavelengths—namely H-alpha, H-beta, and OIII—this broadband filter boosts contrast and structure visibility in emission and planetary nebulae, as well as supernova remnants like the Veil Nebula.
Designed to cut through skyglow and manmade light from sodium and mercury vapor lamps, the UHC filter enables stunning views of targets such as the Lagoon, Trifid, Swan, and Orion Nebulae. Its narrower bandpasses, compared to CLS or Moon & SkyGlow filters, deliver a darker background and more pronounced nebular detail. Engineered from high-quality Schott B270 glass and coated using IAD technology for enhanced durability and clarity, this filter is a must-have for observers under suburban skies—or for even better performance, under dark skies.
