Product Description
The Askar FRA400 Quintuplet APO Astrograph is a compact, fast and versatile telescope designed for wide-field astrophotography and high-quality visual observation. It combines a 72mm aperture, 400mm focal length and f/5.6 focal ratio with a five-element Petzval optical design to deliver a flat, well-corrected image across a large field.
The FRA400 uses a quintuplet APO optical system with two ED elements, helping reduce chromatic aberration while maintaining sharp star images. Its built-in field correction eliminates the need for a separate field flattener for its native imaging configuration. The 44mm corrected image circle makes it suitable for full-frame astrophotography cameras as well as smaller sensor formats.
For astrophotographers, the telescope features a 3-inch precision rack-and-pinion focuser with a 360° rotator, M68 connection and 140mm back focus. The retractable dew shield and compact optical tube make the FRA400 practical for both permanent and portable imaging setups. An optional 0.7× reducer can further increase imaging speed to f/3.9.
